This high protein meal is a great option for an evening dinner. The fresh steak from our local vendor with refreshing asparagus is a filling and delicious meal that will be sure to satisfy.

  • INGREDIENTS

    • Strip steaks
    • Salt
    • Black pepper
    • Olive Oil
    • Butter
    • Thyme Sprigs
    • Garlic Cloves, crushed
  • DIRECTIONS

    1. Sprinkle salt and pepper evenly over steaks.
    2. Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add oil to pan; swirl to coat.
    3. Add steaks to pan; cook 3 minutes on each side or until browned. Reduce heat to medium-low; add butter, thyme, and garlic to pan. Carefully grasp pan handle using an oven mitt or folded dish towel.
    4. Tilt pan toward you so butter pools; cook 1 1/2 minutes, basting steaks with butter constantly.
    5. Remove steaks from pan; cover loosely with foil.
    6. Let stand 10 minutes.
    7. Reserve butter mixture.
    8. Cut steak diagonally across grain into thin slices.
    9. Discard thyme and garlic; spoon reserved butter mixture over steak.
